After months of diagnosis, research, and recording numbers and comparing them to spec, I must’ve recorded a few numbers incorrectly. All I needed was a $30 ignition coil and the 931 is running again!!

To think had I not blown up the original coil yesterday, this wouldn’t have happened!! Took it around the block, got it up to temperature. So now the car is both mechanically and electrically sound for driving! Just gotta fix some small things but much excite!!

Have a Citroen!

That one s e e m s t o b e a “Charleston” . . . just a 2CV with a fancy paintjob and a couple more chrome parts than standard . I t i s m i s s i ng some black c u r v e d co a c h l i n e s on the do o r s - o r maybe someone s i m p l y tr i e d t o r e p l i c a t e t h e “ C h a r l e s t o n ” l o o k o n a n o r m al 2 C V .

It proved surprisingly popular. This is the most usual combination of colours – Delage red and black – but there were also yellow and black and another one with two different shades of grey.

Most excellent. The old german stuff always seems to have one und precisely one thing they need to keep them from going. I got a pair of mercedes that have been avoiding proper diagnosis for months.

Both of them M119 motor’d cars. One just refuses to start, especially so after sitting for awhile. The other is having ASR problems, which is a whole bag of frustration.

Too cool! Looks like I’ve got some Citroen homework to do.

I was able to drive it twice before this most recent break down. Hopefully this time should be even better because I’ve done some extra work in the downtime.

Right? Does that first M119 have a have a hard time starting after being driven or just after sitting period?

It’s been quite random. Sometimes it’ll lose it’s mind for a couple hours after being run but if I run it regularly it’s much happier.

Unfortunately I have a timing chain tensioner starting to give up so I’ve not run it much. And now that I’m trying to get around to fixing it it’s being very difficult.

I’ve got most of a parts car that I’m planning on swapping piece by piece until the problem goes away. It’s either fuel, spark, or air.
